Biographical Info

Danielle Fanslow is a medical writer at a science communications agency. She writes research articles and creates presentations for physicians and scientists who study and treat cancer. Her own research interests include gene therapy technologies and novel treatments for genetic disorders like Huntington’s disease. Danielle received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Indiana University and her Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from Northwestern University. Outside of work, Danielle enjoys skiing, practicing ballet, and discovering new restaurants in Salt Lake.

Dr. Fanslow presented a Science Right Now workshop about her research on genetic disorders. Following the presentation, she helped the students through a lab in which they extracted DNA from strawberries.
